A hungry journalist is a threat to society – Costa

Media Owners Association of Zambia (MOAZ) President Costa Mwansa has cautioned that journalists facing poor working conditions are a potential threat to society. He emphasized the need for a supportive environment in which media professionals can fully benefit from their work.

Mwansa disclosed that MOAZ is engaging key institutions, including State House and the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), in an effort to secure better conditions for journalists.

Speaking after a peaceful protest led by MISA Zambia, the Media Self-Regulation Council of Zambia, MOAZ, and other media bodies against the proposed statutory regulation of the media, Mwansa reaffirmed his Association’s commitment to advocating for improved working conditions in the industry.

“I was urged to address the issue of conditions of service,” he said. “No business can succeed or grow without proper support, together, we will win.”
