No public rallies for the opposition political parties

The Police in Ndola have refused to allow Zambia Wake Up Party to go ahead with it’s planned public rally in Chifubu citing unspecified security threats.

Zambia Wake Up Party president , Howard Kunda said his party had informed the police on 20th May over its intention to hold a rally on 15th June at Chifubu ground but the police have refused to allow the party to go ahead with its rally because of alleged security threats which they have not disclosed to the party.

Speaking in Ndola,Mr Kunda, who is former Muchinga Member of Parliament, said he was called by the police to inform him over the matter.

Mr Kunda said his party will however go ahead with its planned rally in chifubu if the police fails to give valid reasons in writing over the cancellation of the public meeting.
