Western Province Tense as Rival Party Cadres Clash
Western Province was rocked by political violence after supporters of the ruling UPND and the NRPUP reportedly clashed during campaign activities.
According to reports, the convoy carrying NRPUP leaders Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu came under attack by individuals alleged to be UPND cadres. Videos circulating on social media appear to show the confrontation while police officers were present at the scene.
The Zambia Police Service has not yet issued an official statement on the incident or confirmed the circumstances surrounding the clash.
The incident adds to growing concerns over escalating political violence ahead of Zambia’s August 13 general elections.
