HENRY SIKAZWE Says Intimidation Will Not Derail His Campaign
Senga Hill Constituency Independent parliamentary candidate HENRY SIKAZWE says he will not be intimidated by the continued violence allegedly directed at his campaign team by supporters of rival candidates.
Mr. SIKAZWE’s remarks follow an incident on Monday, July 27, 2026, when his campaign meeting at Kamutozo Village in Lapisha Ward was disrupted by a group of individuals.
He said the attackers pelted stones at campaign vehicles, forcing his team to end the meeting and leave the area.
He noted that this was the second such incident after his campaign team was allegedly attacked by suspected political cadres on June 12, 2026, where a campaign vehicle’s windscreen was damaged during a campaign meeting in Malamba Ward.
Mr. SIKAZWE said the people of Senga Hill want to hear messages of development rather than witness violence during the campaign period.
He urged fellow candidates to promote peaceful politics and reject intimidation and violence.
He has also called on the Zambia Police Service and the Conflict Management Committee to take proactive measures to curb political violence and prevent possible bloodshed.
Mr. SIKAZWE was speaking in an interview with Isunga News.
Meanwhile, Efforts to get a comment from Northern Province Electoral Officer Alfred Nyambose, proved futile by press time.
