Former Health Minister Jonas Chanda’s lawyers have written to News Diggers demanding for an immediate retraction and an apology for an article published in the newspaper suggesting that their client is corrupt.
In a letter dated December 13, addressed to News Diggers, J Kabuka and Company contend that in an article dated December 1, 2022, with the headline ‘MoH CITES JONAS CHANDA IN THE TFM SAGA, their client is depicted as a corrupt and dishonest man who had bribed his way into public office. The lawyers have since demanded that the newspaper retracts the story, pays Dr. Chanda’s legal costs that may be required with regards to the same issue and make a reasonable monetary offer to Dr. Chanda in damages within seven days.
